Jabuticaba ek vishesh prakar ka phal hai jo South America, vishesh roop se Brazil ke, vrikshon par paya jata hai. Iska vishesh roop aur swad isey anya phalon se alag banata hai. Yeh phal ek aam aakaar mein hota hai, lekin iska vishesh gun hai ki yeh vriksh ke daron par lagbhag har jagah ugta hai, jo ise anokha banata hai.


Jabuticaba ka vriksh Brazil ka apana vriksh hai. Iska vriksh chhota hota hai aur uspar phal lagbhag saal bhar aata hai. Yeh phal prachin samay se lokpriya hai aur iska itihas Bharatiya janjatiyon tak jata hai. Iski katha aur mahatva Brazil ke kuch aboriginal samudayon mein bhi paaya jata hai. Jabuticaba ka naam asal mein Tupi-Guarani bhasha se aata hai, jiska arth hota hai "woh jo pehle se ped par ugta hai."


Is phal ka vriksh madhya Brazil mein mukhya roop se paya jata hai, lekin aaj kal ise aur bhi jagah par ugaaya ja raha hai, jaise ki Florida, California, aur anya kuch jagahon mein bhi.

Jabuticaba ka vishesh roop uski vriksh par fal lagane ki khaas vajah se hota hai. Iska fal aam taur par round hota hai aur uski chhaal smooth hoti hai, jisse ise anya phalon se alag banata hai. Iske chhilke ka rang safed se laal tak ho sakta hai.
